About me

This is sort of a placeholder for now, until I have time to write an honest to goodness about me. I want to write one of those “100 things” list, so that’ll be my goal for the near future. I’ll start with a few for now, and I’ll add as I can.

1. My first name is Amy
2. My middle name is Robin
3. My screenname/web address “amerob” comes from, and is pronounced like, the first syllable of my first and middle names
4. I’ve never met another Amy whose middle name is Robin
5. I ask every Amy I meet
6. Amy Sedaris told me her middle name is Louise
7. My cat’s name is Abby
8. I got her on the second day of my senior year of high school
9. She hops like a bunny rabbit
10. The vet calls her a “cabbit”
11. I have one younger brother
12. He’s much taller than me
13. That’s not saying much, cause I’m only 5′1″
14. I like to read
15. I don’t do it nearly as much as I did before I started knitting
16. I learned how to knit in college
17. I didn’t really start to knit regularly until about a year and half ago
18. I don’t know what took me so long
19. I like to make socks

20. I am terrible at remembering people’s names.

21. This runs in the family.

22. I have been called every female relative’s name by my grandmother before she gets to mine.

23. I find this endearing.

24. I drive a purple-colored Prius.

25. It has a sticker in the rear window that says “Eat my Voltage”

26. I don’t think new Prius owners get this sticker, so I am very proud of mine.

27. The only stickers/embellishments on the outside of my car are an alumni license plate frame and my HOV-OK stickers
28. Inside my car, I have stickers that represent my love of: TiVo, old school Apple, knitting, and my TerraPass sticker

29. I also have a bunch of Tigger stuff in my car.

30. Tigger is my favorite Disney character

31. My favorite coffee drink is a Soy Vanilla Latte

32. Most of the staff at my local coffee shop know this as my “usual”

33. I feel somewhat pretentious ordering it elsewhere

34. I also like tea

35. I had tea in a crypt under a London church a couple of years ago. It was a cool, and a little bit strange, place to have a cafe

36. That’s the only time I’ve ever had clotted cream (on a scone, with strawberry jam). Yum!

37. I went to London to visit a friend/former coworker who had moved there

38. I rarely take vacations unless I can stay with a friend or family member in the city that I am visiting

39. I want more of my friends to move to fun and exciting places

40. Like Australia. I’d love to visit Australia someday.
